Leeds United want Kyle Bartley, while Glasgow Rangers are reportedly keen to bring the centre-back back to Ibrox this summer.

Given Swansea’s willingness to consider bids for Bartley, Leeds and Rangers fans would be forgiven for being optimistic that they may stand a very decent chance of getting a deal done that could be a very good one judging by the form that he showed during his loan spell with the Whites between 2016 and 2017.
But perhaps Swansea may be about to throw a spanner in the works by appointing a former Rangers defender as their new manager this summer.

BBC Sport reports that Frank De Boer is in talks with the Swans about taking over from Carlos Carvalhal as the club prepare for life in the Championship. While that initially may leave some Gers fans hoping that that gives Gerrard an advantage over Paul Heckingbottom, perhaps a transfer rumour from last summer suggests that Rangers may also be in for disappointment.
The Sun reported last July that Crystal Palace were one of the sides interested in signing Bartley after his superb loan at Leeds, and the manager of the Eagles at that time – though not for much longer – was De Boer.
De Boer’s interest in Bartley last summer just hints that he may be much more determined to keep the centre-back during this window, especially given his experience in the second tier.
So perhaps Leeds and Rangers should hope that De Boer does not end up getting the Swansea job this summer if they want Bartley to remain in the shop window.
