Tottenham Hotspur loanee Tom Carroll held his own against Arsenal’s Aaron Ramsey at the weekend.

Tom Carroll made only his second start of the season for Swansea in the Premier League at the weekend, and put in a star turn.
The 22-year-old impressed against the rivals of his parent club, Tottenham, winning 2-1 against Arsenal.
Carroll was facing much acclaimed Arsenal star Aaron Ramsey, touted by Arsene Wenger as the Gunners answer to Frank Lampard.
Yet in the contest it was difficult to know which was the young star looking to make his way, and who was the established international, with both stars difficult to separate.
| Passing Accuracy | Key Passes | Final Third Passes | Ball Recoveries | Touches | |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Aaron Ramsey | 85% | 0 | 10 | 5 | 69 |
| Tom Carroll | 85% | 1 | 8 | 3 | 67 |
Carroll more than held his own, only marginally below Ramsey in terms of key passes, touches and ball recoveries, equal in terms of pass completion.
His performance was hugely encouraging for Swansea, but also for Tottenham, who may just hope that the Englishman can go onto out-do Ramsey in North London derbies to be played in coming seasons.
