Stoke City winger Xherdan Shaqiri is reportedly having his medical at Liverpool, in a deal set to be fantastic for everyone involved; except Stoke.

According to reports from Sky Sports this morning, Stoke City’s Swiss winger Xherdan Shaqiri will be completing his medical to join Liverpool today. This comes after Stoke’s relegation has led to the 26-year-old wanting to depart his current club; wishing to remain, first and foremost, in the top flight of English football.
Shaqiri is undoubtedly a gifted player, having played for German giants Bayern Munich and Italian side Inter Milan, as well as receiving 74 caps for the Swiss national team.

Sometimes, his attitude has been questioned; especially in the 17/18 season after he slammed his Stoke City teammates, claiming that even Ronaldinho could not succeed with them.
However, there is an optimism that a move to Liverpool could do wonders for not only Shaqiri’s career, but for the Reds, too.
For Shaqiri, it offers him the option to work alongside world class teammates once again, learning and growing among his peers, as opposed to the stagnation achieved at Stoke.
With better facilities and a better work environment, Shaqiri can perhaps reach the potential he was tipped for while at Bayern and Inter.
Although he is likely not to be a first-team starter week in, week out, Shaqiri offers a great rotation option; one that can be properly utilised to maximum effect in continental and domestic competitions. When they reached the Champions League final, Liverpool looked like they had somewhat run of steam.
Shaqiri has the potential to be a real diamond in the rough and he is a sure coup for the Kop.
