The reason behind Felipe Anderson’s tweet may have been misinterpreted by West Ham United fans.
In what seems like negotiations that have been dragging on for a while now, the proposed move of Felipe Anderson from Lazio to West Ham United does not appear to be over the line just yet.
West Ham’s latest bid, according to a report from Goal, stands at £31 million, with an additional £6 million in add-ons. However, Lazio are reportedly after a figure closer to £50 million, which the Hammers will no doubt be reluctant to pay.
Felipe Anderson is currently on the books at Serie A side SS Lazio, yet his place at the Biancoceleste was largely taken from him by stand-out star Luis Alberto last season. Anderson wants a move to a club that can guarantee him football and his reported belief is that West Ham can do just that.
Anderson took to Twitter on Sunday and it was was initially believed to be a hint at his move away, yet his Instagram account confirmed that he was leaving his family in Brazil to come back to Italy. Anderson’s tweet read: “Long live the goodbyes, and all that they teach us.”
There is a thought, however, that Anderson intentionally tweeted so cryptically, to suggest that a move to West Ham could be imminent, although that is unconfirmed.
Naturally, West Ham fans took to Twitter to react to Felipe Anderson’s tweet, with many believing that this was the player himself confirming a move.
