Sunderland’s record transfer is understandably interested in moving away from the Wearside club.

Sunderland’s record transfer is their £13.8 million move for Gabonese international Didier Ndong.
The 23-year-old signed for Sunderland in 2016 and has since made 54 appearances for the Black Cats. Ndong moved on loan to Watford in January, with the London club having an option to buy; yet after no appearances he is set to return to Sunderland.
However, it appears as though Ndong is interested in leaving Sunderland after consecutive relegations leaves them in League One next season. According to reports from DiMarzio, Serie A outfit Torino are negotiating a deal with Sunderland for Ndong’s services. A fee in the region of €7.5 million has been suggested and Torino will know that Sunderland have little option other than to sell.

Didier Ndong has played 18 times for the Gabon national team and at the age of 23, has a lot of potential to grow in the future. Before moving to Watford on loan for the second half of the season, N’dong had made 21 appearances for Sunderland in all competitions.
In this time, he picked up three assists and had a pass accuracy of 76%. On average, Ndong achieved 1.1 aerials won per game, 1.9 long balls and 0.7 key passes.

Ndong is a versatile midfielder, having played mainly as a central midfielder throughout his career, yet also able to play competently as a defensive midfielder and even out wide on the left or right.
With Sunderland’s fall from grace, it is highly unlikely that the Gabonese midfielder will remain at the club come the start of next season.
