Liverpool are looking to fix their goalkeeping issues and are reportedly considering a move for the impressive young Albanian.

After Loris Karius’ performance in the Champions League final between Liverpool and Real Madrid, which saw the German at fault for two of Madrid’s goals in a 3-1 win, Liverpool are on the hunt for a new goalkeeper, or two. Simon Mignolet has been unpopular for his performances in goal for some time now and if Liverpool wish to challenge for the title, they’ll need a keeper as good as their attack.
According to reports from cittaceleste.it, Liverpool are interested in Lazio goalkeeper Thomas Strakosha. The 23-year-old Albanian broke into the Rome side’s first team last season and has been a regular starter since.

TransferMarkt values Strakosha at £18 million, yet it is likely that Lazio would be unwilling to part with him for any less than £25-£30 million. With his contract running till June 2022, Lazio are in no rush or need to sell and can instead focus on getting as big of a return as possible on their initial £68,000 investment.
In 38 Serie A games this season, Strakosha conceded 49 times and kept 11 clean sheets. Unfortunately for the Albanian, poor defensive performances from Lazio meant that his goals conceded should be significantly fewer. In the Europa League, Strakosha kept a further three clean sheets and added another three in his four Coppa Italia matches.

Loris Karius signed for Liverpool for £4.7 million in 2016 and, this season conceded just 14 times in 19 Premier League matches, keeping an impressive 10 clean sheets. Despite this, the horror of the Champions League final will knock Karius’ confidence and perhaps it could be Strakosha’s time to step into the limelight at a big club.
