The Dutch striker was on loan at Fenerbahçe last season and Spurs look like they will finally offload him.

As the Summer draws nearer, Spurs are looking increasingly like they want to offload a lot of the deadweight from their wage bill.

One such player is Dutch forward Vincent Janssen. After an unfortunate injury and a somewhat average loan spell in Turkey, it looks like the 23-year-old will finally be leaving North London permanently.

According to reports from CalcioMercato, Serie A club Lazio are interested in the forward as they continue to hunt for a back-up for prolific goalscorer Ciro Immobile. Janssen is not the first forward from North London that the biancoceleste are interested in, with Arsenal’s Lucas Perez being named as another option in reports from CalcioMercato.

Whilst on loan at Fenerbahçe, Janssen made 16 appearances in the league; starting nine and coming on from the bench in seven games. In this time, the Dutchman scored four times and picked up two assists. He had an average of 2.6 shots per game and 0.8 key passes per game.

As Lazio look to offload former Manchester City striker Felipe Caicedo, the thought amongst the Italian club is that Janssen is both a young and talented option. The Dutchman would undoubtedly have to settle for a place behind Ciro Immobile in the pecking order but as it appears his time at Spurs is over, it could be a good move for all parties.

According to TransferMarkt, the player is currently valued at £8.1 million and therefore Lazio would have to part with a figure of around £10 million to secure Janssen’s signature. His Tottenham contract expires at the end of the 2019/20 season but it is unlikely that he will be in North London that long.
