Sven-Goran Eriksson told Sky Sports News (17/11/20 at 11:25 am) that he saw current Chelsea boss Frank Lampard as the ‘more’ likely to be a manager than his old rival and current Rangers man Steven Gerrard.
During their playing days for Chelsea and Liverpool, respectively, they couldn’t be separated and they followed that into the management scene because they earned their first top jobs in 2018, and only months apart.
Lampard was hired by Championship side Derby County, whilst Gerrard is still in the pressure cooker of a job in Glasgow with Rangers.
Sven saw both players become world-class performers when he was in the England hot seat and he shared whether he saw them both as managers during their playing days.
“Yes, I could see them as managers,” said Eriksson. “More maybe Frank Lampard than Steven Gerrard because Frank Lampard was always outspoken in one way.
“Steven Gerrard was more quiet. But the knowledge of football they both had was incredible and it still is, of course.”

With Lampard now at Chelsea, it seems as though the road is set for them to meet in the Premier League as managers one day.
If Gerrard can help Rangers end Celtic’s dominance in Scottish football then he will be lauded by all and it could earn him the Liverpool job in years to come.
Some are predicting when Jurgen Klopp parts ways with the Merseyside giants then Gerrard will be the one to replace him.
