Leeds United may be in the market for a midfielder this summer, and Boubakary Soumare is one exciting target.
The Daily Mail reported last week that Leeds want to sign Soumare from Lille, after Marcelo Bielsa briefly worked with him over in France.
Leicester City are favourites to land him for £21million, but with Leeds scouting Lille earlier this month, it looks like there is a real chance Leeds make a move.
Soumare has long been compared to Paul Pogba, having impressed as a dynamic box-to-box midfielder with huge potential.
The 22-year-old will surely be playing in the Premier League next season, and Leeds fans may be hoping it’s with them.
Lille teammate Sven Botman has now been asked about Soumare by The Athletic’s David Ornstein, and he claims that Soumare is having an ‘amazing’ season.

Botman even noted that Soumare is one of the most talented players he has ever played with – not bad coming from somebody schooled at Ajax.
“If I’m honest, I think Soumare is one of the most talented players I ever played with,” said Botman. “I can imagine that some clubs like Leicester City or other clubs in the Premier League are interested in this player. He’s doing an amazing season,” he added.
With that kind of recommendation, Leeds fans would surely be buzzing to get Soumare in.
It won’t be easy with Leicester the favourites, but let’s see if Bielsa can work his magic on one of his former players.
