Chris Sutton has noted on Twitter that Liel Abada has a ‘wonderful’ habit for nicking goals after the Celtic winger scored a late winner at home to Dundee United.
Tam Court’s Terrors looked set to hold Ange Postecoglou’s 10-man side to a goalless draw at Parkhead on Saturday. The Bhoys fell a man down in the 81st-minute as Nir Bitton saw red for a second yellow card after carelessly tugging Declan Glass’ shirt outside the box.
Dundee United goalkeeper Benjamin Siegrist had already kept the Hoops at bay on multiple occasions. A point would have marked a missed opportunity for Celtic after Ross County stunned Rangers to hold the Premiership leaders to a 3-3 draw late in stoppage-time.

But Abada ensured Celtic cut Rangers’ advantage to two-points ahead of the Gers’ visit to Parkhead next Wednesday. The Hoops could now top the table after the Old Firm derby.
Celtic seemed unlikely to beat Siegrist, with the shot-stopper in inspired form. But Abada lashed home his 12th Bhoys goal from close range as the game neared stoppage-time. The £3.5m summer signing from Maccabi Petah Tikva made no mistake from Jota’s delivery.

Abada has now offered seven goals and four assists in 22 Premiership appearances with Celtic after scoring against Dundee United. Sutton lauds the Israel international for his goalscoring habit, but can also find issue with the 20-year-old’s general play occasionally.
“Abada is young and frustrates at times, but he has a wonderful habit of nicking a goal!” Sutton wrote. “Poor performance from Celtic in truth, but incredible drive and character to win with so many key players missing.”
Postecoglou was without Kyogo Furuhashi, Callum McGregor and David Turnbull at home to Dundee United through injuries. Tom Rogic is also away on international duty this wee
