Moussa Sissoko joined Tottenham Hotspur in the summer transfer window.
Former Chelsea and Celtic striker Chris Sutton praised Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Victor Wanyama on The Monday Night Club show on BBC Radio 5live on Monday evening (broadcast from 7pm, October 3, 2016).
The Englishman suggested that he has been pleased with the performances of Wanyama so far this season.
The 25-year-old defensive midfielder joined Tottenham from Premier League rivals Southampton in the summer transfer window.
The Kenya international has established himself as an important player in Mauricio Pochettino’s team.
Sutton, though, has shared his doubts on two Tottenham players – Vincent Janssen and Moussa Sissoko.
While 22-year-old Netherlands international striker Janssen joined Spurs from AZ in the summer transfer window, France international midfielder Sissoko moved to the North London outfit from Championship club Newcastle United.
Former Aston Villa striker Sutton believes that Janssen will not be a regular for Spurs, and has suggested that keeping Sissoko maintain his level throughout the season will be a challenge for manager Mauricio Pochettino.
“I have to say I am not sure about Janssen,” said Sutton on The Monday Night Club show BBC Radio 5live on Monday evening (broadcast from 7pm, October 3, 2016).
“I think he may be a bit-part player, but Wanyama, he is an absolute monster in the centre of the park, a real machine, wins tackles, keeps it simple, a player I really like.
“I suppose keeping Sissoko at that level, a player who downed tools at Newcastle last season may be a challenge.”
Sissoko is a good midfielder and has done relatively well for Tottenham so far this season.
However, the 27-year-old midfielder is inconsistent, as he was for Newcastle during the 2015-16 campaign.
