Glasgow Rangers manager Steven Gerrard wants Harry Wilson at Ibrox next season, according to talkSPORT, which has also claimed that Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers is interested in a season-long loan deal for the Liverpool winger.
However, Liverpool are reluctant to send Wilson on loan to Celtic due to the situation with Charly Musonda, according to The Glasgow Evening Times.
Musonda has gone back to his parent club Chelsea this summer after making a handful of first-team appearances for Celtic during a loan spell during the second half of last season.
It has been reported that Liverpool are worried that a move for Wilson to Scotland will not be helpful in his development.
Former Celtic striker Chris Sutton has given his take on his speculation, and has some strong words for Liverpool.
Sutton wrote in The Daily Record: “There’s talk of the likes of Harry Wilson from Liverpool coming in, at least there was until it was suggested the Anfield bosses were wary because of what happened to Chelsea’s Charly Musonda last term.
“Utter nonsense. Do they think Rodgers didn’t want to play him? The simple reason he wasn’t involved was he wasn’t cutting it.
“Only Musonda can say why that was the case but let’s nip this idea any club can dictate who plays when and where during these loan spells. No one should hold a gun to the head of clubs like Celtic and Rangers.”

Wilson is 21 years of age, and one can understand why Liverpool (reportedly) want assurances that he will get playing time if he moves to Celtic or Rangers in the summer transfer window.
However, the Wales international winger – who earns £4,000 per week as salary, according to Spotrac.com – has to earn his place in the team.
