The midfielder joined AC Milan on a free transfer from Liverpool in January 2015.
AC Milan midfielder Suso has told MilanTV that he has no doubts about leaving Liverpool last year.
The midfielder arrived at Anfield in 2010 with many hoping he could go on to become a future star for the Reds.
It proved to be a disappointing six-year spell on Merseyside for him, though, as he managed to pick up just eight Premier League starts in total.
He departed last January as Serie A giants AC Milan snapped him up on a free transfer.
After a shaky start to life in Italy, he has since established himself at the club and insists he has no doubts that the move was the right one to make.
“I had six to seven months left on my deal with Liverpool so I had to sign a new contract but the offer was not what I wanted,” he told MilanTV.
“And while I was waiting, the possibility to come to Milan arrived. I believe that when a club this important wants you then you can’t have doubts, it was the right choice.”
With Liverpool firmly in the past, Suso will now be focusing on turning around AC Milan’s fortunes.
Vincenzo Montella’s team are currently sixth in Serie A with 13 points from their first seven games.
That actually sees them level with Roma in third place and just a point behind second-placed Napoli.
Suso has started all those games and looks likely to play a key role if they are to improve on last season’s seventh place finish.
