West Ham fans have taken to Twitter to react after Felipe Anderson spoke to talkSPORT about his deadline day move to Porto.
The Brazilian said: ‘I have a contract with with West Ham, so next season I’ll be here and I need to do my best to be back stronger. I think they will do great this season.
‘In the last games everyone saw how solid they have been; they haven’t conceded goals, they’re strong, every day they have improved in training, everyone is motivated and I’m so happy for them.’
Things may not be going the Brazilian’s way at the London Stadium right now, but it is clear that he respects the club and doesn’t want to burn any bridges between Portugal and east London.
Anderson – who Spotrac say earns £85k-a-week – joined the Irons in 2018 for a then club-record fee of £36 million.
Following an impressive debut season in which he netted ten goals, the forward has been underwhelming. The 27-year-old netted just once in 27 appearances last term.

He didn’t appear to be in David Moyes’ plans this season.
The former Manchester United man handed the ex-Lazio attacker just one minute of Premier League action this season before his exit.
He has, however, netted a goal and set up two more in three Carabao Cup appearances this term.

Anderson admitted that he is fulfilling a dream by joining a club who can offer him Champions League football, but clearly wants to get his West Ham career back on track next season, which is admirable.
His words seem to have gone down well with the Hammers fans on Twitter, who are respectful of his professionalism and desire to come back and prove himself.
Let’s see what they’ve been saying about his comments…
