According to The Times, Everton have set their sights on securing the services of Spanish playmaker Isco, who was due to join Union Berlin earlier this week before a deal fell through.
Now, the Toffees are hoping to land the talented attacking midfielder on a free transfer, and it appears that they have a chance of bringing the ex-Real Madrid man to Goodison Park.
Isco was widely considered one of the most talented and creative players in Spain during his time at the Bernabeu, and his ability to dictate play in the final third earned him a reputation as one of the most exciting attacking players in the world.
He won four Champions League titles with Los Blancos, and he was actually a favourite of former Everton ace, James Rodriguez.
Rodriguez has previously spoken out about Isco’s ability, describing him as the player who shocked him the most during his time at Real Madrid.

Rodriguez a fan of Isco
James named Isco as the player who surprised him most during his time at Real Madrid.
“All of them have a lot of quality but perhaps the one that has surprised me the most is Isco,” James said.
Rodriguez 2.0
Isco could bring the same sort of quality to this struggling Everton side that Rodriguez did back in 2020.
Isco would be an excellent addition to the Everton side, as his technical ability and creative flair would bring a new dimension to the team’s attacking play, and help the side score more goals.
The fact he’s so rated by Rodriguez shows just how brilliant he is on his day, but a few years on from his prime, the attacking midfielder may not be the footballing genius he once was.
