Neil Warnock has stated that Mo Salah has ‘surprised everybody’ with his form this season, as he told talkSPORT.

The record-breaking English coach also stated that Salah has been ‘unbelievable’ in the colours of Liverpool.

Not many players, if anyone, is hitting the form Salah is producing, both on the domestic and the European stage.

Salah has played 21 games in all competitions this term, scoring 20 goals and supplying his teammates with nine assists – all of the assists have come in the Premier League.

On Tuesday night, he was at it again when he found the back of the net during his side’s 2-1 win at AC Milan in the Champions League.

Warnock would have come up against Salah when he was coaching in the Premier League and he lauded the qualities of the player.

“I think they grind people down,” said Warnock. “The way their front lads are.

“I think they are solid and better at the back and midfield. Then they just let them three and because they have that freedom.

“I mean, Salah, let’s be honest, he’s surprised everybody, hasn’t he? He has been unbelievable and he still is.”

Salah is both the top-scorer and assist-maker in the Premier League during this campaign and not many will be able to stop him.

Only four players since 1992 have topped both charts and one of those players achieved that feat last season in Harry Kane.

Now, the Tottenham man has fallen off a cliff since producing the best season of his career.

Unless Salah has a ‘gentleman’s agreement’ that isn’t met, then there’s no way he goes down the road Kane finds himself now.

Before a ball was kicked, Salah would have felt that the England captain was going to be his biggest challenger, but even Naby Keita has outscored Kane.
