Some Leeds United fans on social media have been reacting after it was announced that Robbie Gotts has joined Barrow on a permanent deal.

The midfielder had been tipped to be a future star at Leeds at one point, and he’s a player Marcelo Bielsa actually rated rather highly.

Indeed, he was a regular on the Leeds bench during their promotion season, and the Argentine even apologised to Gotts for not giving him more first-team chances.

However, for one reason or another, Leeds have now thought it best to cut ties with the academy graduate as he’s been shipped off to Barrow to play in League Two.

As you can imagine, Leeds fans had plenty to say about this news, and their reactions ranged from sadness to shock.

Every club wants to see their academy products flourish, and Gotts looked like he’d be a future star at Elland Road, but now that chapter of his career has closed.

Will Gotts go on to become a Premier League player? Well, only time will tell, but if he is going to develop into that player, it won’t be at Leeds.

Here’s what the Elland Road faithful have been saying on social media…
