According to The Mirror, Wolverhampton Wanderers striker Raul Jimenez wants one last big pay day.

It’s claimed that the rumours of Jimenez being available for £18million are wide of the mark – which is rather unsurprising.

Still, this report states that Jimenez wants a move to earn a big contract for the last time, with Manchester United keen.

The Mexican star turned 29 last month, and may feel that he won’t get a big move once he hits his 30’s.

Still, it would be a surprise to see him push for a move away from Wolves. They are one of the most ambitious sides in the Premier League, and look geared up for European football for years to come.

Wolves may even have cash to improve Jimenez’s deal, especially after 22 goals and 10 assists in all competitions this season.

One thing seems pretty certain: the rumours of a move to Tottenham can be killed off if Jimenez is seeking a big pay day.

Soccer Link reported in April that Jose Mourinho was desperate to bring Jimenez to Spurs, viewing him as the ideal striker to support Harry Kane.

However, the global pandemic has hit Tottenham hard. They will be in no position to tempt Wolves into a deal, and certainly won’t be able to give Jimenez a financial windfall.

It’s hard to see Jimenez leaving Molineux this summer, but even if he does, Tottenham surely won’t be his destination now.
