Dimitar Berbatov has predicted how Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool will fare against Thomas Frank’s Brentford.
The former Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United striker has predicted two goals in the Premier League match.
So, what has Dimitar Berbatov said about Brentford against Liverpool? Let’s take a look.
Dimitar Berbatov predicts Brentford vs Liverpool
Brentford will take on Liverpool at home in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon. It is a lunchtime kickoff at the Gtech Community Stadium.
Thomas Frank’s side are 14th in the Premier League table with 25 points from 23 matches. The London club are six points above the bottom three.
Liverpool are at the top of the league table. Jurgen Klopp’s side are on 54 points from 24 matches, two points clear of Manchester City and Arsenal, who are second and third respectively in the standings. City, who are the defending champions, have played 23 games.
Former Manchester United striker Dimitar Berbatov believes that the match in London will end in a draw, while ex-Chelsea striker Chris Sutton has backed Liverpool to win it.
Berbatov told Metro: “I want to go for a surprise here. Brentford haven’t been doing great, but they won last time out and will want to follow that up. Liverpool are a bit shaky at the back and it could cost them dearly. Early kick off can be strange too. I’ll go for a draw. Prediction 1-1.”

Sutton told BBC Sport: “Brentford have scored three goals in each of their past two home games against Liverpool, and I can see them giving the Reds more problems this time too.
“Arsenal and Manchester City have both had to fight hard to get away wins against the Bees this season, and Jurgen Klopp’s side need to do the same to stay on top of the Premier League.
“It won’t be easy for them, though. I was at Anfield for 5 live last week to see Liverpool beat Burnley, but they weren’t very convincing in that game and I’d give Brentford a real chance of taking at least a point here.
“Liverpool have been stretched by injuries recently and Trent Alexander-Arnold’s latest knee problem is another blow, but Joe Gomez can cover at right-back, plus Conor Bradley is back in training. Mohamed Salah is getting back to full fitness too and might even feature on Saturday.
“Salah’s return would be a huge boost and will increase Liverpool’s firepower, but their attack is very strong even without him and I think that is what will get them over the line here.
“I am going with my heart over my head, really, because I’d like to see a close title race and Liverpool need to keep winning to keep City at bay.
“Sutton’s prediction: 1-2.”
My View: Liverpool will win
In my opinion, Liverpool will win against Brentford away from home in the Premier League on Saturday.
Yes, Liverpool are the visiting team, but I do not think that it is going affect proceedings. For elite players, playing away from home is not a massive disadvantage.
Liverpool, who want to sign Barcelona winger Raphinha in the January transfer window, have a much better team than Brentford, who are in danger of getting relegated to the Championship at the end of the season.
The Bees have lost three of their last five Premier League matches. Liverpool, who have been linked with Tottenham Hotspur boss Ange Postecoglou, have lost just two league games all season and have won four of their last five.
