West Ham United boss David Moyes is reported to have tried to scout Joao Mario on Sunday.
West Ham United boss David Moyes reportedly flew to Italy on Sunday with the intention of watching Joao Mario in action for Inter Milan.
The Mirror reported that the West Ham manager was present inside San Siro last night as Roma held Inter to a 1-1 draw, but Mario never made it off the bench.
Nevertheless, if true it would suggest that the Irons aren’t completely out of the running to sign the 25-year-old winger, contrary to recent reports.
According to Sky Sports, Mario isn’t interested in joining the Hammers, but would Moyes personally try scout him if he did not feel there was a chance of signing him?
The Portugual international, signed for £38 million from Sporting in 2016 (AS), has only started five league games for the Nerazzurri this season and is therefore linked with a move away.
Everton have also been linked, but it would appear as if Moyes feels West Ham have a chance and that alone should excite fans of the East London club.
Moyes told Football London last week that he is “good, interesting player” when asked about him.
