Just because we don’t know what FSG are doing, does it mean they don’t know what they are doing?
The media and their sources have been doing their utmost to get to the bottom of the Liverpool manager saga, but have come up short at every turn.
Every minor development has been hyped into something it may or may not be.
Take yesterday for instance. Sky Sports News announced an ‘amazing development’ with emphasis on the word amazing.
What was it? The ‘news’ was that Swansea City’s chairman Huw Jenkins was to meet with manager Brendan Rodgers.

And, well that was pretty much it. Of course Rodgers would meet with his chairman after returning from holiday, hardly groundbreaking news is it?
We might be wrong of course, Rodgers might be announced as Liverpool boss on Friday, or Monday, or next Friday.
Again, dates when a decision is expected have changed like the wind.
Liverpool ‘sources’ suggested an announcement would be made yesterday. Now the latest suggested date is Friday.
How does this fit in with Wigan chairman Dave Whelan’s Thursday deadline for Roberto Martinez to make up his mind? It doesn’t.
If news sources are right, Andre Villa-Boas and Rafa Benitez have been discounted. It is between Louis van Gaal, Roberto Martinez, and Brendan Rodgers the outsider.
Van Gaal is tipped to take up a director of football role, while fans are praying FSG have a change of heart when it comes to Rafa Benitez.
We live in a world of 24/7 football media, and we expect news and decisions to be delivered instantly.
When it isn’t, and the real news remains silent, behind closed doors which we cannot gain access to it is highly frustrating for supporters.
But it doesn’t necessarily mean FSG don’t know what they are doing.
The time to judge will be in a year’s time, when we see just how their new manager has delivered.
