Competition to sign James Maddison from Norwich City is really hotting up, with the Sun claiming the Championship club have now slapped a £25m price-tag on the midfielder.

Premier League quartet Everton, Liverpool, Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur are all said to be watching Maddison, who has been in impressive form this season.

The England Under-21s international has scored 14 goals and provided ten assists in 41 matches in all competitions for the Canaries so far in 2017/18.

This has come only a little over 12 months since Maddison actually started playing regularly for Norwich, having been on loan at boyhood club Coventry City and then Aberdeen after being signed from the Sky Blues in early 2016.

Southampton and Wolverhampton Wanderers are also keeping tabs on the 21-year-old, but surely with so much interest from the top six in the English top flight, neither side are in with a chance of signing the youngster anymore?

Their only hope would perhaps be that Maddison would think that he could get more regular game time with one of them, but then both Spurs and the Toffees in particular have history when it comes to signing young players from the lower divisions and integrating them into their first teams.
