Leeds fans have taken to Twitter to react after Calciomercato revealed that Marcelo Bielsa is keen on a reunion with Nicolas N’Koulou at Elland Road.

The Argentine spent time with the 72-cap Cameroon international at Marseille, and he is believed to be interested in signing him for the Whites.

N’Koulou finds himself out of contract in June, so there’s a chance that Leeds could sign the 30-year-old for nothing.

Leeds currently have Robin Koch, Diego Llorente, Liam Cooper and Pascal Struijk as centre-back options.

However, there have been a lot of injures in that department this season, with Luke Ayling and Kalvin Phillips having to fill in at centre-back occasionally.

Leeds also have one of the most porous backlines in the Premier League this season.

Only West Brom have let more goals in than the Yorkshire-based outfit this season, conceding 55 whereas Bielsa’s men have shipped 43.

In that respect, a new defender might be necessary.

However, it would be unlike Bielsa and Victor Orta to bring a 30-year-old to Elland Road.

Leeds have typically signed much younger players while Bielsa has been at the club, so there are certainly question marks about the news.

However, the fact that N’Koulou has previously played under the 65-year-old adds some credibility to the link.

Let’s see what the Leeds fans on Twitter have been saying about Calciomercato‘s report…
