Arsenal fans have taken to Twitter to react after Gianluca Di Marzio revealed that Fiorentina are set to sign Krzysztof Piatek.
What’s the story?
Well, this is very interesting news for Arsenal fans to digest.
Why? You may have heard that Arsenal are interested in signing Fiorentina striker Dusan Vlahovic, with Gazzetta dello Sport claiming that a £59m bid has been submitted.
Shortly after rumours of that offer emerged, Fiorentina are now close to signing another centre-forward in Piatek.
You could argue that the Serie A side are signing the Poland international to play alongside Vlahovic.
However, as WhoScored shows, Fiorentina usually line up with one centre-forward, which makes the news all the more intriguing.
The Italian outfit have also signed Jonathan Ikone this month, so it’s possible they’re already spending Arsenal’s £59m.
So far this season, Vlahovic has scored 16 goals in 20 Serie A appearances.

In our view, Arsenal need to sign the Serbia international now, or they risk losing out if they wait until the summer.
When that transfer window rolls around, clubs will have bigger budgets as well as more time to free up space in their squad.
That could see a bigger club get involved in the race for Vlahovic, such as Real Madrid – according to Defensa Central, the Spanish giants are eyeing the 21-year-old.
Furthermore, Arsenal are set to lose Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah in June when their contracts expire, whereas Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang may have also played his last game for the Gunners.
In the summer, clubs will realise how desperate Arsenal are for a striker, potentially leading to a surge in their asking price.
For the above reasons, it’s imperative that Edu wraps up a deal for Vlahovic this month.
