Last year Leeds United were strongly linked with a move for Norwich City frontman Kyle Lafferty, with The BBC reporting talks were held between the clubs.
Boss Steve Evans was a big fan, but could not secure the funding from Massimo Cellino to bring in the Northern Ireland striker.
Leeds winger Stuart Dallas added fuel to the fire by tweeting Lafferty telling him he could stay with him if he joined, but not even a loan deal could be struck.
Lafferty’s career since suggests he should regret missing out on the opportunity to head to Yorkshire.

Last March he signed on loan with Birmingham City on an emergency loan, making six appearances and scoring once.
His international heroics dried up at Euro 2016, and all these months on, Lafferty remains at Norwich City, but alas is an afterthought at the Canaries.
The 29-year-old has not started a single game for the club this season, being used only from the substitute’s bench.
He has played 12 times, but has amassed a paltry 115 minutes of Championship football, scoring once.
Norwich sit in eighth place, currently without a manager, while Leeds are flying higher than expected in fourth.
The Whites are unlikely to move for Lafferty this summer having overlooked him during Garry Monk’s first two transfer windows in charge, but had he been at the club already, he would surely have been playing more than he is at Norwich.
