Several Crystal Palace fans have turned on Damien Delaney after the defender’s role in the Eagles’ 2-1 FA Cup defeat against rivals Brighton & Hove Albion on Monday.
36 year old Delaney was making only his third appearance of the season for Palace, whom he joined in the summer of 2012.
But the Irishman did his chances of earning further opportunities few favours, as the Eagles were dumped out at the Amex Stadium.

Delaney, who signed a one year extension at Selhurst Park last summer, was in close proximity to both of Brighton’s goals, which were separated by Bakary Sako’s fine strike.
Dale Stephens fired the opener at the near post 25 minutes in, before Glenn Murray bundled home the winner at the far three minutes from time.
Crystal Palace are currently without two key centre backs, Scott Dann and Mamadou Sakho through injury.
