On-loan Celtic striker Odsonne Edouard is worth around £7 million apparently.

Eyebrows were raised earlier this month when it emerged that Celtic would have to pay £7 million to sign Paris Saint-Germain loanee Odsonne Edouard on a permanent basis.
The 20-year-old striker has had a decent loan spell at Parkhead so far but The Daily Mail reported that Celtic would have to pay a huge sum to keep him in Glasgow beyond the summer.
And if manager Brendan Rodgers had any doubts whatsoever, surely they were confirmed following his performance in Tuesday’s 2-1 win at Partick Thistle.

Rodgers started Edouard ahead of linked-away Moussa Dembele and Leigh Griffiths, but the young Frenchman posted a terrible performance as the Hoops’ spearhead at Firhill.
When the story about his £7 million price-tag broke, some could justify it based on his potential, given that he scored a hat-trick against Motherwell last month.

But hat’s a lot of money for Celtic and perhaps Rodgers would be better off spending it someone else because, on the evidence of Tuesday, Edouard has a very long way to go before he’s at Dembele’s or Griffiths level.
