West Ham interested in West Brom’s Jonny Evans along with Everton and Leicester, but will Arsenal not try and sign the defender for a third time?

West Ham United are ready to swoop for Jonny Evans should West Bromwich Albion be relegated this season, reports Birmingham Live.

West Brom are currently bottom of the Premier League and seven points from safety with ten games to go, but even if they do survive it’s believed that Evans will still leave the club.

Perhaps Hammers fans shouldn’t get too excited about signing the 30-year-old just yet, though, as across the English capital there has been some very strong interest in recent times.

The Telegraph reported in August that Arsenal, along with Leicester, failed in their quest to land Evans with a rejected offer of around £25m.

The Gunners returned in the January transfer window, as outlined by the BBC, this time seeing a £12m bid turned down. Yet clearly the Northern Ireland international is wanted at the Emirates Stadium and with skipper Per Mertesacker retiring this summer, that interest may not disappear any time soon.
