Oli McBurnie has labelled Leeds United-owned Daniel James as a ‘superstar’ on Instagram as he prepares for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar with Wales.

The 25-year-old, who is on-loan at Fulham from Leeds United, is set to embark on the biggest footballing adventure of his career.

For the first time since 1958, Wales are on the biggest footballing stage of them all and it’s a great chance for a number of familiar players to shine bright.

James’ rise, since making his Wales debut in 2018, has been as quick as his darting runs from the wing and he was all smiles as he touched down in Qatar.

In the comments section of James’ Instagram post, Sheffield United striker Oli McBurnie told him to ‘enjoy superstar’ and Luke Ayling added ‘Love it, my man’.

LEEDS PLAYERS AT WORLD CUP

There will be a number of Leeds players pitting their talents against one another, and that in the same group.

Wales and the USA have a number of Leeds players within their ranks, whilst Kalvin Phillips, who left Elland Road in the summer, will be hoping to earn some much-needed minutes out in Doha for England.

England’s second game of their group stage will be against the USA, perhaps a battle between Tyler Adams and Kalvin Phillips might commence in the middle of the park, that’s if the Manchester City man is selected to start.
