Martin Odegaard was left out of Real Madrid’s squad last night, amid rumours Arsenal have made a move to sign him.
Sky claim that Arsenal are keen on Odegaard, with the Norwegian now expected to leave Madrid this month.
Arsenal do face competition from Real Sociedad, but Madrid gave a clue that a transfer could be close with their team selection last night.
Zinedine Zidane’s side played against Alcoyano in the cup yesterday, but Odegaard was nowhere to be seen.
It was the first time that the playmaker has missed out on a squad list for Madrid this season, when he hasn’t been injured.
In Odegaard’s absence Madrid actually didn’t cope well, as they lost 2-1 to their lower league opponents in extra time.
If Arsenal were to get hold of the playmaker, who was hailed as a ‘superstar’ by international teammate Joshua King (Goal), he could be a wonderful addition to their squad, as the youngster would inject further creativity into their squad, and take some of the pressure of Emile Smith Rowe to produce in the final third.
