Tom Lockyer has given his verdict on Albert Sambi Lokonga, who is on loan at Luton Town from Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal.

Lockyer has said that Lokonga is not getting the credit that he deserves for his performances away from Arsenal.

So, what has Tom Lockyer said about Arsenal-owned midfielder Albert Sambi Lokonga? Let’s take a look.

Tom Lockyer praises Arsenal-owned midfielder Albert Sambi Lokonga

Well, Tom Lockyer has been speaking about his Luton Town teammate Albert Sambi Lokonga, and he has been hugely impressed with the Arsenal-owned midfielder.

Lockyer has noted that Lokonga has been playing well for Luton this season and is not getting the credit that he deserves.

Lokonga joined Luton on loan from Arsenal in the summer of 2023. The midfielder has made 10 starts and one substitute appearance in the Premier League this season. He has given two assists in those games.

Lockyer said about Lokonga on BBC Radio 5 Live: “Sambi Lokonga has come in. He doesn’t get anywhere near as much credit as Ross (Barkley), but he has been superb as well.”

My View: Albert Sambi Lokonga does not have a future at Arsenal

In my opinion, Albert Sambi Lokonga does not have a future at Arsenal under manager Mikel Arteta. I would not be surprised if the Gunners decided to sell the midfielder in the summer transfer window.

Lokonga joined Arsenal from Anderlecht in the summer of 2021 for a transfer fee of £17.2 million (BBC Sport). The 24-year-old made 12 starts and seven substitute appearances in the Premier League for the Gunners in 2021-22.

Arsenal decided to send the Belgium international midfielder on loan to Crystal Palace for the second half of the 2022-23 season, and he moved on loan to Luton Town in the summer of 2023.

If Arteta really rated Lokonga, then he would have kept him in his Arsenal squad. The midfielder is under contract at the Gunners until the summer of 2026, and I think that the North London club will cash in on him at the end of the season.
