Blackburn fans have taken to Twitter to react after hearing what the Leeds fans were chanting during their 3-1 win over Burnley on Sunday.

What’s the story?

Well, footage has emerged from the win at Elland Road, which pushed Burnley closer to the bottom of the Premier League.

During the game, Leeds fans could be heard singing the following chant.

“Going up and going down, going up and going down. Blackburn going up and Burnley going down, Blackburn going up and Burnley going down”.

The Elland Road faithful could also be heard shouting “you’re just a small town in Blackburn” at the Burnley supporters.

Seeing as Blackburn and Burnley are bitter rivals, you can understand why those at Ewood Park loved hearing these chants.

One Blackburn fan even said they hope Leeds go unbeaten for the rest of the campaign after watching the footage.

Leeds could derail Blackburn promotion bid

While Leeds and Blackburn seem to have built a connection after the chants, bridges between the pair could soon be burned.

Why? Well, according to Eurosport, Marcelo Bielsa wants to take Blackburn’s talisman, Ben Brereton Diaz, off their hands.

The 9-cap Chile international has been a revelation in the Championship this season, scoring 20 goals in 25 appearances.

It comes after he shone at the Copa America, following his decision to represent the Chilean national team.

Leeds could do with another striker, as Patrick Bamford has struggled to stay fit this season while Rodrigo has been poor in front of goal.

Joe Gelhardt has been a bright spark, although Bielsa certainly needs more firepower up front.

For now, let’s see what the Blackburn fans on Twitter have been saying about the chanting at Elland Road…
