Rangers fans have taken to Twitter to react after the club announced that Nathan Patterson had signed a new contract at Ibrox.
The 19-year-old has committed his future to the Gers until at least the summer of 2024, signing a two-year extension to the deal he penned in December 2019.
Patterson – a boyhood Rangers fan – has made just five first-team appearances in his short career so far.
However, Steven Gerrard clearly rates him highly enough to extend his terms, despite the fact they weren’t expiring anytime soon.
Four of those outings have come this season, including a taste of European football for the teenager when he appeared against Lech Poznan.

Patterson has also earned international recognition this term.
He’s made four appearances for Scotland’s Under-21 side as a result of his form for Rangers.
If we’re being realistic, it might be a while until the promising right-back becomes a regular starter, due to James Tavernier’s presence.

However, there’s no denying that Rangers have a great prospect at right-back, one who will hopefully be able to learn from Tavernier while he waits for opportunities.
He may not have too many first-team appearances, but judging by the Rangers fans’ reaction to his contract, he’s already very highly-rated.
Let’s see what they’ve been saying on Twitter about the club’s announcement…
