Danny Murphy has said on Match of the Day on BBC One (11:22pm, August 20, 2022) that Rodrigo Bentancur was the best player for Antonio Conte’s Tottenham Hotspur against Wolverhampton Wanderers at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.
Tottenham got the better of Wolves 1-0 at home in front of their own fans in the league yesterday.
England international striker Harry Kane scored the only goal of the match in the second half.
Ivan Perisic provided the assist.
Former Tottenham midfielder Murphy believes that 25-year-old Uruguay international midfielder Bentancur was the best player for Antonio Conte’s side.

In our view, Rodrigo Bentancur did well for Tottenham Hotspur against Wolverhampton Wanderers at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in the Premier League on Saturday.
The 25-year-old broke Wolves’ attacking moves, tried to drive his own team forward, and kept things ticking over in the middle of the park.
Although the Uruguay international had some sloppy moments in the first half when Wolves were piling on the pressure, he stepped up his game and got better as the match wore on.
Maybe Bentancur could have done better when he was in possession, and while it was not his best game for Tottenham, the midfielder did have his moments.
