‘Superb’: Chris Sutton applauds what Liverpool midfielder target has done

Chris Sutton has praised reported Liverpool target Ruben Neves on Twitter for his goal for Wolverhampton Wanderers against Newcastle United at Molineux Stadium in the Premier League on Sunday.

The former Chelsea striker was impressed by the goal that Neves, linked with a move to Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool from Bruno Lage’s Wolverhampton Wanderers in the summer transfer window, scored in the 38th minute of the match.

The 25-year-old Portugal international midfielder found the back of the net with an excellent striker from distance.

The match finished in a 1-1 draw.

90min have reported this weekend that Liverpool are looking to make a late addition to their midfield department before the summer transfer window closes next week.

One of the players that the the Merseyside club’s scouting department has identified is Wolves and Portugal international midfielder Neves, according to the report.

Scouting reports on the Wolves star have been positive, according to 90min, who have added that despite their interest in him, Liverpool may not actually actively pursue him.

Neves has scored 16 goals and created 13 big chances in 146 appearances in the Premier League so far in his career.
