Newcastle United legend and Match of the Day pundit on BBC One Alan Shearer has been hugely impressed by Van de Ven.
The BBC Sport pundit has noted that along with James Maddison, Van de Ven has been “superb” for Spurs this season.
Shearer wrote on BBC Sport: “Kane’s departure to Bayern Munich has given their other attacking players the opportunity to step up and do their part, and their new signings like midfielder James Maddison and defender Micky van de Ven have been superb.”
England international attacking midfielder Maddison joined Tottenham from Leicester City in the summer transfer window.
The playmaker has scored two goals and given five assists in eight Premier League matches for Spurs so far this campaign.
Tottenham are at the top of the Premier League table at the moment with 20 points from eight matches, level on points with North London rivals Arsenal, who are second.
