Some West Ham fans on social media have been raving over Jesse Lingard after his performance against Manchester City.
The England international continued his impressive start to life at West Ham against the league leaders, grabbing an assist as the Hammers failed to overcome Pep Guardiola’s footballing machine.
Losing to City is nothing to be ashamed of. After all, this is a side that have broken the record for the most consecutive wins from an English club.
Lingard was excellent all afternoon, he looked to be a real danger everytime West Ham tried to come forward on a counter-attack, and he was always keen to get on the ball and run at his opponents.
His assist wasn’t of the highest quality as Michail Antonio turned in a shot that was going off target, but Lingard worked hard and timed his run perfectly to get into the box to create that chance.
As you can imagine, his showing against City had Hammers fans talking, and they didn’t have enough good things to say about him on social media.
