Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle United have been offered the chance to sign Paris Saint-Germain striker Mauro Icardi, according to Foot Mercato.
The French news outlet has claimed that representatives of Icardi have offered Premier League clubs Tottenham and Newcastle the chance to sign the 28-year-old striker.
Icardi is looking to leave PSG in the January transfer window.
Tottenham or Newcastle for Mauro Icardi?
In our opinion, Tottenham will have a better chance of signing Icardi than Newcastle.
The reason is simply.
Spurs are aiming to finish in the Premier League top four, while Newcastle are hoping to stave off relegation.

So, Tottenham would be more tempting to the striker than Newcastle.
Now, of course, Icardi has reportedly been offered to Newcastle.
But, we do not think that the Magpies will be at the top of Icardi’s list of clubs to move to in January.
Maybe in the next one or two years when Newcastle start to kick on under PIF.
But no, not right now.
Tottenham could actually do with another striker.
Harry Kane is the only recognised world-class striker at Spurs.
Yes, Son Heung-min scores goals, but Icardi is a natural striker with a proven goals-record.
Highly-rated
Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel worked with Icardi when he was in charge of PSG, and he raved about him.
FotMob quoted Tuchel as saying about Icardi in January 2020: “The guy is super reliable and very, very professional. He understands football tactically, works defensively and is very, very efficient.
“His work and his reliability for the team is very impressive, but I don’t want to talk about the purchase option.”
