Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has told Football.London that Eddie Nketiah is now ready to explode and take his chance at the Gunners.
Arteta made the comments after the friendly match between Arsenal and Juventus at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday evening.
Nketiah, 23, will now get the chance to start as a striker on a regular basis due to Gabriel Jesus’s injury.
The Brazil international striker suffered an injury while at the 2022 Qatar World Cup.
There is speculation that Arsenal want to sign a new striker in the January transfer window, but, as of now, Nketiah is the main man upfront.
And Arteta has full confidence in the 23-year-old.
Mikel Arteta on Arsenal striker Eddie Nketiah
Arteta said about Nketiah: “Eddie is always ready. He knows that it opens up a big opportunity for him right now and he needs to grab it, but the way that he trains every day and the mentality he has, he gives us no reason to believe that he won’t be super ready to perform.”

Taking his chance
In our opinion, Eddie Nketiah has now got the perfect opportunity to show Arsenal what he is capable of.
The former Leeds United loanee has not aways had a run of games, and you have to feel for him a little bit for that.
After all, all players need a run of games to get into rhythm.
Now that Nketiah is the number one striker at Arsenal, he simply has to make the most of the chances he will get and prove himself.
