Leicester City star Jamie Vardy has reached an impressive milestone following the 3-0 win over West Brom.
The 33-year-old, who Brendan Rodgers described as ‘super cool’ after the full-time whistle, netted his 104th and 105th Premier League goals against the Baggies.
‘There are many top strikers in this level but any team would want someone like him in there, Rodgers told the Daily Mail. ‘He is super cool, clinical, he’s still got pace and running ability. He showed great composure with the penalties.’
While that is incredible in itself, it looks even better when compared to one of the best strikers English football has ever had.
Vardy’s brace against West Brom now means he has scored more goals than Didier Drogba; a man who won four Premier League titles while at Chelsea.
The Ivorian netted 104 league goals in total. Not only has the Leicester No.9 now surpassed that tally, he has done so in 42 appearances less.

It is now that we should start to really think about cementing Vardy as one of the best Premier League forwards of all time.
The ex-Fleetwood man is different to the likes of Wayne Rooney, Drogba and Fernando Torres, as he did not merit a huge fee and arrive to much fanfare.

However, Vardy has taken the long route. He joined Leicester for £1 million while in the Championship, and has helped the club win a top-flight title and also became the oldest player to secure the golden boot last term.
He was arguably already a Premier League great. However, now the Leicester star has surpassed an icon like Drogba, it is time we start mentioning Vardy in the same breath for good.
