A lot of players in red and white are yet to hit the heights that are expected in them, but that is not reflected in their ratings for the latest edition of FIFA, with many of Sunderland’s under-performing stars boasting flattering ratings.
There is no surprise as to who takes the number one spot in the Sunderland squad on FIFA, with Jermain Defoe’s rating of 80 making him the best player on Wearside.

Defoe is closely followed by Wahbi Khazri, who is rated at 79.
Surprisingly, summer signing Papy Djilobodji has a rating of 78, which is kind considering how poorly the centre back has started his career at the Stadium of Light. The former Chelsea defender is deemed better than his partner Lamine Kone, who has only been awarded a 76 rating.
Lee Cattermole is rated higher than Jan Kirchhoff by one, with Cattermole a 78 compared to the German’s 77 rating.

Record signing Didier Ndong doesn’t make the list, missing the cut with a 74 rating, which could shoot up in the future after a bright start under David Moyes.
