The Belgian had a mixed game against Watford this afternoon.

Adnan Januzaj has found it tough since joining Sunderland on loan. He had a good start to the season but injury curtailed his progression and then found himself out of the Sunderland first-team.

The Manchester United loanee is certainly a divisive player who is not always appreciate, even by his own fans.

That appeared to be the case today with one fan suggesting that Sunderland should take off the Belgian at one point during their fixture with Watford.

But then he showed his talent. He swivelled and passed to allow Jermain Defoe down the right and his pass found Patrick van Aanholt – who scored the game’s only goal.

Sunderland’s official Twitter account had this response to the fan:

But he was not alone in being critical of Januzaj’s performance and rightly so. The attacker was playing poorly and picked up a silly yellow during his poor display.

The problem is he does have the ability to suddenly delve into his obvious talent reserve and do something incredible which, on this occasion, was the catalyst toward three vital points for Sunderland.

If he could just add some more consistency to his performances then Sunderland fans will be far more happy to see him playing regularly, as would David Moyes.
