Glasgow Rangers midfielder Jack Thomson wants to leave Ibrox on loan, and Sunderland would be a good destination.

The 18-year-old midfielder has expressed his desire to gain first-team experience at another club, knowing that he will struggle to break into Gerrard’s Rangers this season.
The youngster has been playing well for the Rangers Under-20 side this season, and one can understand why he wants to play regular first-team competitive football.
Sunderland would be a good destination for Thomson. The Black Cats are playing in League One at the moment and are aiming to finish in the top two.
With automatic promotion to the Championship firmly on the agenda for Sunderland, manager Jack Ross’s side could do with one more player in the midfield department.

Given Thomson’s youthful vigour and energy and his hunger for playing time, the teenager would be a good addition to Jack Ross’s team at the Stadium of Light.
Sunderland are a massive club despite being in the third tier of English football, and fighting for a regular place in the team and playing in front of a large crowd is going to prepare Thomson for life back at Rangers.
