The Bournemouth player is being linked with a move to Sunderland.
According to the Telegraph, Sunderland are a possible January destination for Bournemouth defender Tyrone Mings.
The 23-year-old has struggled for game time since returning from torn knee ligaments and with Sunderland in need of defensive reinforcements to aid them in their relegation fight Mings could be a viable option.
The centre-back has been available for the last 12 Premier League matches yet he has featured for just one minute – coming off the bench against Leicester City with the clock ticking down.
Sunderland have a few options in defence but manager David Moyes’ habit of playing as many as possible in a single game – with the likes of Jason Denayer, Jan Kirchoff, Donald Love and Paddy McNair all featuring in midfield this season – means a move for Mings is not beyond the realms of possibility.
Sunderland have shipped nine goals in their last three matches and that will have to change if they have a realistic shot of remaining in the top flight beyond May.
A fit and firing Mings would certainly help, and with Bournemouth seemingly not needing their £8million signing – at least from the start – Moyes would be wise to test the water before someone else does.
