Borini may have shown glimpses of potential during his two spells with Sunderland, but the Italian hasn’t had the impact at the Stadium of Light that many hoped.
Borini has regularly been used as a winger, rather than an out-and-out forward and he has struggled hit the back of the net with any frequency.
Borini has scored just one goal in 16 appearances for Sunderland this season, and the time has surely now come for the Black Cats to cash in on the forward.
Jeremain Lens
Lens has been out on loan all season, and the signs are that he wants to move away from Wearside for good.
Sunderland should not stand in his way, if they do receive offers in the summer, as Lens has not shown much dedication to their cause ever since joining.
Jack Rodwell
Rodwell has been at Sunderland since 2014, and he has never become the key player that he was expected to be when he joined from Manchester City.
Rodwell has struggled for consistency at Sunderland, despite being given ample opportunities.
The central midfielder has never fulfilled his potential with the Black Cats, and if they can raise some interest in him, Moyes should sell.
