Sunderland striker Victor Anichebe has praised James Morrison’s performance for West Bromwich Albion last night.
Anichebe and Morrison were teammates at West Brom for three seasons between 2013 and 2016.
And Anichebe, who left the Hawthorns to move to Sunderland last summer, was a keen viewer last night as West Brom took on Burnley.
His former side were highly impressive yesterday, as they tore apart Sean Dyche’s men.
West Brom ran out 4-0 winners in the contest, with Morrison playing a starring role throughout.
The Scotland international scored the Baggies’ second goal, after curling in a shot from the edge of the area, and he was a constant source of creativity.
Morrison tormented the Burnley defence with his passing ability, and Anichebe was certainly very impressed with what he saw from the attacking midfielder.
West Brom’s victory over Burnley has lifted them up to ninth in the Premier League table, after an encouraging start to the season.
The Baggies are next in action on Saturday when they take on Hull City at the KC Stadium.
