A loan move for Leeds striker Ryan Edmondson would be a terrific option.
Edmondson looks like he could be one of the brightest young strikers to come through Leeds’ academy in years. The problem is that right now, he is not getting the game time.
Leeds signed Edmondson from York City earlier this year and he made an instant impact for the under-23s.
He has made first team appearances under both Paul Heckingbottom and Marcelo Bielsa, both times as a substitute.
Edmondson scored for Leeds’ first team in pre-season, but he is down in a queue of strikers at Leeds and is at best fourth choice.
A move to a promotion chasing team would be good for Edmondson, and it would suit Leeds too for him to get more playing time.
Edmondson would face a challenge to walk into Sunderland’s team too, but it may be easier than the task he faces right now at Leeds, which has yielded little for him so far this campaign.
