Sunderland should make a move for Leeds United’s Chris Wood in the summer transfer window.

Now that Sunderland have been relegated from the Premier League, they should start preparing for life in the Championship.
One of the very first signings Sunderland should make is a striker. True, Jermain Defoe is still going strong as ever, but would the England international striker be willing to play in the Championship at the age of 34?
Probably not, which means that the Black Cats should look at potential replacements for Defoe. One striker they should be looking at is Chris Wood of Leeds United.

Wood has been one of the best players in the Championship this season and has been scoring goals for fun. The 25-year-old has found the net 26 times and has provided four assists for Leeds in the league so far this campaign.
Leeds have failed to finish in the Championship playoffs, and Sunderland should take advantage of this and make a move for the New Zealand international.
The West Yorkshire outfit may not be willing to part company with Wood and the player himself may not be keen on swapping one Championship club for another, but it would not hurt the Black Cats to make an offer, would it?
Sunderland wanted to sign Wood in the January transfer window, according to The Sun, and it would be a good idea for the Black Cats to make renew their interest in the summer.
