Sunderland should make move for Liverpool’s Ovie Ejaria

Sunderland are looking to strengthen their midfield over the January transfer window.

According to a report in the Daily Mail, Liverpool are allowing youngster Ovie Ejaria to leave on loan this month, which could lead Sunderland to benefit from attempting to pull off a double swoop.

Sunderland are already in discussions with Liverpool over signing Ben Woodburn, and are expected to complete a deal for the Welsh forward in the near future.

Chris Coleman knows that Sunderland need to upgrade their forward line, but he is also looking for midfielders.

Coleman publicly expressed his frustrations with his lack of options in midfield, which led to him having to overplay Darron Gibson.

If Sunderland were able to bring in Ejaria though, they would look a lot stronger in the middle of the park.

Ejaria is considered to be one of Liverpool’s top prospects, but he needs to gain more first-team experience.

The 20-year-old has only made eight senior appearances for Liverpool to date, but he could be just what Sunderland are looking for, as they aim to escape the drop.
