Celtic winger Lewis Morgan is reportedly on the radar of Sunderland in the summer transfer window.

Sunderland are interested in signing Lewis Morgan from Celtic in the summer transfer window, according to The Scottish Sun.

It has been reported that Sunderland manager Jack Ross wants to secure the services of Morgan on a season-long loan deal from Celtic this summer.

Ross worked with Morgan with St. Mirren, who will play in the Scottish Premiership next season after winning automatic promotion from the Scottish Championship.

The 21-year-old winger moved to Celtic from St Mirren in the January transfer window for a fee reported by BBC Sport to be worth £300,000, and was immediately loaned back to the Buddies for the rest of the season.

Stay or leave?

Morgan is one of the best young players in Scotland, and it is hard to see the winger turn down the chance to play for Celtic and move to Sunderland this summer, even on a loan deal.

After all, the 21-year-old has yet to play for the Hoops, who surely did not sign him in January only to loan him out this summer.

While it would be hard for the Scotland international to establish himself in Brendan Rodgers’s Celtic next season, the winger should stay at Celtic and fight for his place, at least for the first half of the 2018-19 campaign.

Sunderland will play in League One next season after getting relegated from the Championship.
